Thomas Cole:  The Course of Empire

Use the "Art Analysis Worksheet" you got in class to carefully examine the two paintings linked below.  Use one side of your worksheet for the first painting, and the other side for the second painting.  

NOTE:  These paintings were done by an American painter named Thomas Cole in the mid 1800s.  He wasn't alive during the decline of the Roman Empire and thus did not witness the events he painted.  They are his interpretation.  Keep that in mind!
